
Ongoing surveys: understanding our target audience
November 20, 2025The Oli4food project recently conducted and educational workshop on the Mediterranean diet for first and second grade students at the Miraflores School of in Ourense.
The activity, led by project partners from Centro Tecnológico de la Carne (CTC), combined theoretical learning with fun and practical activities adapted to the students’ age. Through a story featuring children’s characters, participatory games, and simple cooking activities, the children learned the basic principles of the Mediterranean diet, the food pyramid, and the importance of maintaining healthy habits from an early age.
During the workshop, students actively participated in creating a mural of the Mediterranean food pyramid, answered quiz-style challenges, and prepared healthy recipes using ingredients characteristic of this dietary pattern, highlighting the role of olives and olive oil as key elements of Mediterranean cuisine.
Activities like this workshop are part of the project’s outreach and knowledge transfer activities, bringing food research and innovation closer to society and promoting healthy habits from an early stage.
Centro Tecnológico de la Carne highlights the excellent reception of the activity by the school and expressed its gratitude for the collaboration of the management team, teachers, and support staff of Miraflores School in Ourense, whose involvement was key to the successful running of the session.
