Oli4food consortium gathers in Hannover for final-phase review meeting
April 21, 2026As part of its outreach and science communication activities, the Oli4food project recently organized an educational workshop with primary school students in Spain aimed at introducing them to the principles of the Mediterranean diet and the importance of healthy and sustainable food choices.
During the session, given by staff from the Centro Tecnológico de la Carne (CTC), students had the opportunity to step into the role of young “chefs and researchers”, learning about the work scientists do to develop healthier and more sustainable foods. To conclude the workshop, students put their knowledge into practice by preparing simple and healthy snack recipes inspired by Mediterranean diet principles. This hands-on activity allowed them to experience how nutritious ingredients can also be fun and delicious.
Beyond sharing knowledge about nutrition, the workshop aimed to highlight an important message: food is not only about nutrients, but also about culture, traditions, and sharing moments with family and friends.
Activities like this reflect Oli4food’s commitment to bringing science closer to society and inspiring younger generations to learn about healthy diets, sustainable food systems, and the role of research in shaping the future of food.
The Oli4food team would like to warmly thank the Franciscanas school community in Ourense for welcoming us and for the enthusiasm and participation of the students throughout the workshop.
